REPLAY LIVE
Runs every scan (400 ms) in runtime. API: T('TAG') read · S('TAG',value) write · DT seconds per scan. This is the same role VBScript/Python plays in commercial SCADA — here it drives the tank process physics.
How it behaves: START a driver → CONNECTING → GOOD (polls tick up). Assign tags to a driver in the Tag Database. Press FAULT to inject a comm failure: the driver's tags freeze at last value with BAD quality, a P1 COMM alarm is raised, and the HMI flags the stale data — exactly the failure mode operators must learn to recognise. Restarting the driver restores GOOD quality. Protocol behaviour is emulated (no hardware), the same role Logix Emulate and PLCSIM play.
Record every operator action (button presses, setpoint moves) with timestamps while runtime is on, then replay them against the live process at the original timing — the operator-training-simulator workflow. Two canned scenarios ship with the demo: PUMP_TRIP and COLD_START.
Press GENERATE — the report summarises the historian (min / avg / max per tag), alarm counts by priority, and the last operator actions.

A fired-heater unit under full DCS control: feed tank LT-100, pump P-100, fuel valve FV-101 and outlet temperature TT-102. Configure the strategies in Control Builder, operate from faceplates, and prove the safety layer in the ESD matrix.

Drills: fail Server A and watch B take over as PRIMARY (bumpless — the operator view continues). Fail FTE A: traffic rides on B with a P2 alarm. Fail BOTH FTE legs: the operator station goes STALE (values freeze, ✕BAD) while the C300 keeps controlling — the crucial lesson that view loss ≠ control loss. This is the role Experion redundancy and Fault Tolerant Ethernet play in the real PKS architecture.

Checks run live every scan — complete the condition and the exercise ticks itself. This is the configuration-lab workflow of a real OTS: task, action, automatic verification.
